each counsellor is registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office). You have a right to complain to the ICO if you think there is a problem with the way they handling your data.

3) in certain circumstances to request limiting or ceasing data.

In operating this website we may collect and process the following data about you:

3) Information provided to individual counsellors when you communicate with them.

Occasionally we may gather information regarding your computer whilst you are visiting this website. This enables improvements to services offered, and to provide statistical information regarding the use of the website. Such information will not identify you personally. Information may be collected about your general internet usage by using a cookie file. Where used, these cookies are downloaded to your computer automatically. Information is stored individually by each counsellor, please see their policies regarding this. 

When will we share your personal information?

Everything you tell your counsellor will be confidential, with the following exceptions: 


  • Prevention of harm. If it is believed that you or someone else is at significant risk of harm.

  • Legal requirement. For example, serious criminal activity, or a court-issued order for disclosure.

  • Professional supervision. Please ask individual counsellors about their policies on this.
